Responsible AI Charter

Our commitment to ethical, transparent and human-centred artificial intelligence.

Version 1.0 Updated July 8, 2026

Our commitment to ethical, transparent and human-centred artificial intelligence.

Artificial intelligence should improve people's lives—not replace human judgement, compromise privacy or undermine trust.

The WHOLE Responsible AI Charter sets out the principles that guide every AI feature we build, including Eira and future AI-powered services.

These principles shape how we design, test, improve and govern artificial intelligence across the WHOLE platform.

Human wellbeing comes first

Every AI feature developed by WHOLE exists to support healthier lifestyles, informed decision-making and long-term wellbeing.

Our technology is designed to empower people, not manipulate them.

Commercial interests will never take priority over user safety.

Human-centred by design

Artificial intelligence should assist people—not replace them.

Eira supports education, motivation and healthy behaviour change, but important medical decisions should always involve qualified healthcare professionals where appropriate.

People remain in control of their own health decisions.

Transparency

We believe users have the right to know when artificial intelligence is involved.

Whenever AI contributes to recommendations or conversations, WHOLE will make that clear.

We will never intentionally present AI-generated content as if it were written by a healthcare professional.

Scientific responsibility

Lifestyle recommendations are built upon recognised scientific evidence and established lifestyle medicine principles.

As scientific knowledge evolves, our AI systems will evolve with it.

Evidence is continuously reviewed to improve safety, quality and accuracy.

Fairness and inclusion

Artificial intelligence should work for everyone.

We strive to reduce bias wherever possible and design systems that are respectful of different cultures, backgrounds, abilities, identities and lifestyles.

Health should be accessible to all people.

Privacy and dignity

Respect for personal information is fundamental.

We collect only the information necessary to provide our services and protect that information using appropriate technical and organisational safeguards.

We do not sell personal health information.

Every person deserves dignity, confidentiality and control over their own data.

Safety before innovation

Innovation should never come at the expense of safety.

Before new AI features are introduced, we evaluate potential risks, limitations and unintended consequences.

Where uncertainty exists, we choose the safer approach.

Accountability

WHOLE accepts responsibility for the AI systems we deploy.

We monitor performance, investigate concerns, correct identified issues and continually improve our platform.

Artificial intelligence should always remain accountable to the people it serves.

Accessibility

Technology should remove barriers—not create them.

We are committed to designing AI experiences that are understandable, inclusive and usable for people with different abilities, languages and levels of digital experience.

Continuous improvement

Responsible AI is an ongoing commitment.

As technology, science and regulation evolve, this Charter will continue to develop alongside them.

Major changes to our AI governance will be documented through our Version History.

Our promise

At WHOLE, we believe the future of healthcare technology must be ethical, transparent and deeply human.

Artificial intelligence should never replace compassion.

It should help people understand themselves better, make healthier choices and feel more supported in their journey toward lifelong wellbeing.

That is the standard we hold ourselves to, every day.
